Proud to be Particular
Our Founder Amy
I’m proud to say that I have 200 years maritime history and today, I’m able to carry on my family’s fishy traditions. For over 17 years I’ve been working with some of the world’s most incredible seafood sources, such as Iceland, Norway, Faroe and around the British Isles.
I’ve travelled the fishy world and met some colourful characters along the way!
With this experience behind me, I wanted to create a future focused company that values fish welfare, sustainability, the environment and all the people along the way. This idea grew into Particular & Co, and now I’m able to share my love of fantastic seafood and the beautiful environment around it.

Our Maritime Heritage
Fishing and the sea run deep in founder, Amy Salisbury's genes – not surprising when you consider her family have been setting sail for at least a couple of centuries. Right down the line, her relatives have been involved in everything from owning and operating fishing trawlers in Grimsby, right through to defending our shores with the Royal Navy during World War 2.
Amy's dad went to sea at just 15, working as a galley boy on The Daniel Quare: a vessel his own father skippered. He learned the ropes quickly and loved the adventure, making perilous voyages to Iceland and Norway in search of the very best catch. He worked on tugboats and merchant ships too, then later as the quartermaster on iconic liners like the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.

“I’ve learned from experience every aspect of the seafood sector, travelling far and wide along the way”
Amy is hooked on the sea, just like her dad, and was on and off boats all through her childhood. “I always knew that a life based around fishing was for me, and spent years grafting my way to the top of the ladder in various shore-based roles. I’ve learned from experience every aspect of the seafood sector, travelling far and wide along the way”.
Today, she knows exactly how to create products that are utterly delicious, and precisely how to bring them to your table fantastically fresh. All of this with minimal impact on the seas her family was raised on: “the environment I still love today“.
